Budgeting & Measurement: The Green Way to a Black Bottom Line
Association Green’s 2009 Get Green Already! Conference brought together Washington, DC area national association meeting planners as well as regional meeting planners, restaurateurs, and hoteliers to inform these industries that going green doesn't mean going broke.
Working with the Virginia Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau to promote Hampton Roads as a green destination, we also increased participation in the Virginia Green Program. Our goal was to educate meeting and event planners, hotel and restaurant owners and their staff about the advantages of going green, how to budget for it, and how to measure its success.
By coming to this conference, attendees discovered ways to:
- Create/maintain their company’s green initiatives.
- Measure their waste and diversion rates.
- Incorporate green into their budgets.
